YHOO: Yahoo (YHOO) has bought address book...

4:39 PM Yahoo (YHOO) has bought address book app/plugin developer Xobni. "Numerous sources" tell Kara Swisher the price tag is in the $30M-$40M range, as mentioned in a June report about buyout talks. Xobni says it will continues to offer its free iOS app and Gmail plugin for now, and will support its premium services for a year, but its focus going forward will be on integration with Yahoo services (Mail is bound to be one of them). The startup's tools automatically create profiles for e-mail and phone contacts based on past correspondence and social networking info. (Qwiki) Read comments
