8:02 AM Google (GOOG) isn't obligated to delete sensitive information from its search results even if it is harmful to an individual, EU Advocate General Niilo Jaaskinen says. However, Google and other Internet companies are subject to EU privacy law even if data is handled outside the bloc. Jaaskinen was commenting on a case involving a Spanish man who wants Google to delete an auction of his repossessed home from its search results. The Advocate General's opinion isn't legally binding, but it is often followed by judges in the European Court of Justice. Read comments
