GOOG: EU's Alumunia not impressed with Google concessions

EU's Alumunia not impressed with Google concessions • 6:58 AM

  • European Union competition commissioner Joaquin Almunia has branded Google's (GOOG) revised offer to settle an antitrust case as "not acceptable."
  • "They are not proposals that can eliminate our concerns regarding competition," Almunia told Spanish radio. He was referring to the way Google treats rivals in search results, such as for price comparisons and restaurants.
  • Almunia's comments are in contrast to a more positive reaction he gave in October, when he said that Google's proposals made it easier to see the firm's competitors in results.
